My Awesome Saturday ...

So Saturday may have been one of the funnest days ... EVER!

• Started with a super breakfast at Corner Bakery ... yum


• Then followed up with a Hawaiian Lei Pedicure at the Catamaran Spa.


• This is where the fun begins ... Sephra and I went up to La Jolla to get her hair cut ... so about 2 exits before we exit the freeway ... the question is asked ... what do we do after you are done? Let's go to Disneyland!


• So at 5:46 on Saturday ... we start our trek up I-5 to Anaheim and at 7:24 pm I am online for California Screamin' ... then we go to The Tower of Terror ... Then the coolest ride ... Toy Story Mania! After California Adventure closed we headed over to Disneyland ... for the usual rides - Big Thunder, Pirates and Indiana Jones.


• Then it was dinner time! 11:43 - according to my receipt from the Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor ... A Nestle Chocolate Chip Hot Fudge Sundae with Nestle Chocolate Chip Cookie Swirl Ice Cream!


• The 2 best quotes of the day: "Oh look at the skinny people sharing a sundae ... oh good for them" & "Well I guess it figures the boy was wearing a Minnie hat ... look at his parents" ... Yep we are mean!


• For all of you who are wondering ... I got home at 2:20 am ...

In honor of my weekend ... I thought I'd find a poem that would let you know what is going on ...

Whosever room this is should be ashamed!
His underwear is hanging on the lamp.
His raincoat is there in the overstuffed chair,
And the chair is becoming quite mucky and damp.
His workbook is wedged in the window,
His sweater's been thrown on the floor.
His scarf and one ski are beneath the TV,
And his pants have been carelessly hung on the door.
His books are all jammed in the closet,
His vest has been left in the hall.
A lizard named Ed is asleep in his bed,
And his smelly old sock has been stuck to the wall.
Whosever room this is should be ashamed!
Donald or Robert or Willie or--Huh?
You say it's mine? Oh, dear,
I knew it looked familiar!

Caramel Apple Bars

So I haven't tried these but it's just a reminder that Fall is getting close ... Also ... this is a hint that if anyone is reading this ... you can always make these and send them my way ....

Caramel Apple Bars

Bake the irresistible combination of caramel and apples in an easy cookie mix bar.

Prep Time:15 min
Start to Finish:2 hr 55 min
Makes:36 bars

1/2 cup cold butter
1 pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker® oatmeal cookie mix
1 egg
1 cup finely chopped peeled apple
3/4 cup caramel topping
1/4 cup Gold Medal® all-purpose flour

1. Heat oven to 350°F. Spray bottom of 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
2. In large bowl, cut butter into cookie mix using fork or pastry blender. Stir in egg until mixture is crumbly.
3. Reserve 1 1/2 cups cookie mixture. Press remaining cookie mixture into bottom of pan. Bake 15 minutes. Sprinkle apple evenly over crust. In small bowl, mix caramel topping and flour; drizzle over apples. Sprinkle reserved cookie mixture over apples.
4. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely, about 2 hours. For bars, cut into 9 rows by 4 rows.

High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): Heat oven to 375°F. In step 4, bake 23 to 28 minutes.

PBS is ditching Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood after 40 years

If you’re like us, you grew up watching Mr. Rogers (RIP) change his shoes and sweaters twice a day, followed the trolley to the Neighborhood of Make Believe and enjoyed informational video clips on things like how crayons are made. You also will be devastated at the news that PBS has decided to cut Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood from its weekday syndication after 40 years (it will now air only once a week). We’re not just nostalgic—who else could possibly be better at explaining feelings and sharing to our own children than dear old Fred Rogers? We urge you to head over to SaveMisterRogers.com, created by Brian Linder who feels the program “is still such a special nurturing voice in the lives of children." We couldn’t agree more. Hopefully come September PBS will reconsider their lineup.

So I am at work today and I hear the following ...

"Oh I, ..." wait for it, wait for it ... "I just died in your arms tonight."

We all know where this is going ...

The 9 most horrifying words of a song ... why ... everyone sings along ... not at the same time though. For the next hour every 13 minutes or so ... some bone head starts singing it.

I believe this is some type of torture (although I have been to the Museum of Man Torture Exhibit at Balboa Park and never seen it ...). But I know it's there somewhere, probably behind the Heretic's Fork or Water Torture.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE this song ... but ... I am not in love with this song - oh wait ... that is next weeks blog.

Yep ... I started doing my Christmas shopping ... so for those of you who actually read this ... you might want to put in your requests now ... unless I already bought for you ... then you are outta luck...

Sunday - Oh & 4 ...

So my Flag Football team did it again ... proved that good players if not all in sych can loose a game ... we lost this week but 2 or 3 touchdowns ... It didn't help that we were down 1 girl and I sprained my ankle in the 2nd half and might be put on the DL for a couple of weeks ... so sad. Well there's aways next week. ... hmmm

Oh yes ... and for those of you that don't know ... Sephra is awesome ... she cleaned the entire place - except my side of the condo ... and bought back a flower plant for the patio ... hurray Sephra!
